Chef Madi will continue along the Northeast Corridor on the Northeast Regional to Washington, D.C. – a city with a burgeoning restaurant scene in several of its neighborhoods, including H Street and the Southwest Waterfront (which recently received a major makeover). Chef Madi will be arriving at D.C.’s Union Station, which also serves MARC and VRE commuter rail, the Washington Metro, intercity bus lines, and local Metrobus buses.
D.C. is also home of Amtrak’s headquarters, which is located inside Union Station. Chef Madi will have the opportunity to meet and talk with Amtrak officials about the National Network and the railroad’s future plans for passenger rail.
Chef Madi will also be able to meet with the Rail Passengers Association, which is also located in downtown D.C. Rail Passengers is the largest national association advocating for the rights of passengers across the U.S.
