After leaving Phoenix, Chef Madi will take Amtrak’s motorcoach service once again to the Amtrak train depot in Tucson. The train depot was built in 1907 and although there is no train from Phoenix to Tucson, it serves nearly 30,000 passengers on the Sunset Limited and Texas Eagle each year.
While in Tucson, Chef Madi will be staying at the Downtown Clifton, which is a sponsor of Summer by Rail.
The hotel is located close to many of Tucson’s great eats, including its vibrant Mexican food scene, but overall there are many great choices to select from. USA Today wrote that “The dynamic Tucson food scene has seen rapid growth in the past few years, especially a boom in downtown dining,” where people can get globally-inspired food.
