When in Chicago, Chef Madi will be making a day-trip to Milwaukee on the Amtrak Hiawatha service. The train takes about 90 minutes and will drop Madi off only steps away from the heart of the city at the Milwaukee Intermodal Station. The station also serves the Empire Builder, and the Intermodal Station sees more than 600,000 Amtrak passengers a year.
When in Milwaukee, Chef Madi will travel like a local on the city’s new streetcar, the Hop. The streetcar connects directly to the Intermodal Station for easy access to downtown over a 2.1-mile line.
Madi will also grab lunch with Milwaukee Alderman and Rail Passengers member Robert Bauman to talk about the rising need for strong passenger transit systems in Milwaukee and elsewhere. Madi will also head down to the shops of Old World 3rd St. and see the development around the new Milwaukee Bucks arena up close.
