Marlins Park, Miami, FL
Home teams are now 0-1 in my games.
HOW I GOT THERE
Although the Marlins technically run a shuttle to the park on certain weekdays, hitching a ride on it is pretty difficult since most people working the Miami Metrorail service don’t know where or when it operates. In order to get to the stadium, I took the free Metromover from my hotel to a Metrorail station, and I walked from the Civic Center station to the ballpark in the hot Florida heat. Not the best way to get to a stadium.

MEMORABLE GAME MOMENTS
I always enjoy watching the Nats play, and I got some fantastic highlights at this game. Seeing a Bryce Harper home run and Strasburg pitch several scoreless innings counts as a good ballgame to me. This is the first time I got to see Juan Soto play too – I thought I was cool for doing this trip at 21, but here this 19 year old is showing me what’s what.
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE BALLPARK
I understand the appeal of outdoor ballparks, but if there were ever a place to have a park indoors, it would be in balmy Miami. After my long walk to the stadium, that first blast of air conditioning was an absolute godsend.
WHAT NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
Transportation there is spotty at best, which you can read about here, and also… what the heck is that home run doohickey they have in the outfield?
