As Chef Madi departs D.C. for Charlotte, NC, she will be boarding the Carolinian and enter Amtrak’s Southeast Corridor. The Charlotte Amtrak station services the Carolinian, as well as the Piedmont, and sees nearly 170,000 passengers each year.
Though not large, the station is located near downtown Charlotte, which will make it easy for Chef Madi to explore the city and its great eats.
Food & Wine said that 2018 was a breakout year for the city’s growing restaurant and drink scenes, “with some of the top chefs, mixologists, and bakers in the company making it their homes.”
Charlotte is also a city blooming with a number of great farm to table restaurants. With a wide selection to choose from, these eateries really focus on locally sourced, and fresh foods.
Chef Madi will also be welcomed to the “Queen City” but the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA), a supporting sponsor of this year’s journey.
